Competition “WE LIKE  ENGLISH”

(3A - 3B   FORMS)

   Мета: активізувати лексичний запас учнів та практикувати вживання лексики тем « Я,

             моя родина та друзі»,  «Шкільне життя», «Фрукти та овочі»;
             удосконалювати навички читання, аудіювання, письма та говоріння;
             вчити культури спілкування; розширити кругозір учнів; розвивати мовленнєву
             реакцію, навички колективної роботи;
             зацікавити дітей у вивченні англійської мови;
             виховувати в учнів упевненість у собі, почуття взаємодопомоги, відповідальності,
             вміння вболівати один за одного.

 

Обладнання: алфавіт, тематичні малюнки, картки з літерами та цифрами, роздатковий
                      матеріал, плакат « In the Countryside», м’яч, телевізор, відео «Days of the  

                      Week», song  «ABC» .

 

ХІД ЗАХОДУ

 

      T: Good afternoon, dear children and guests. I’m glad to see you. You are welcome to our competition between 2 teams: the team of the third-A form and the team of the third-B form . Today we’ve gathered to compete for the rank (name) of the best and the wittest experts in English.

      So, it’s time to begin our competition. First of all let’s get acquainted with the teams. 

Captain 1: I’m the captain of the 3d form B. My name is … and our team’s name is “Green”.
                   (all together): Our motto is : “We are RED. We are clever and we can play together”.

Captain 2: I’m the captain of the 3d form A. My name is … and our team’s name is “GREEN”. (all
                    together): Our motto is : “We are GREEN. We are strong and we can work together”.

 

T: First we’d like to know how you remember ABC. Let’s refresh the ABC song
   (Children sing the song).

 

TASK 1

      T: Who’ll first name letters and come to the teacher? (По 1 учневі з команди, які стають за 10 кроків до ведучого; ведучий показує літери. Хто швидше прийде до ведучого, називаючи правильно літери, той переможе).

 

TASK 2

    T: You should put the words in ABC order. The winner will be the team which the first does the task.  (Команди отримують 5 карток зі словами HEN DOG RABBIT FROG CAT)

 

TASK 3

     T: Let’s play the game “A FRUIT AND VEGETABLE BALL”. Your task is to throw a ball one another and say a word from the topic “FRUIT AND VEGETABLES”. Who says the last word will be the winner.

 

T: We see you know the ABC. Now let’s see if you can count in English.

 

TASK 4

    T: Call the numbers.

HORSES – 1 2 4 7 12 16 20                                BEARS – 3 5 6 8 11 19 17.

 

TASK  5

T: Do sums:

1+1=                2+3=            

2+2=                4+4=

3+4=                7+1=

2+1=                1+3=

4+2=                5+2=

 

TASK 6

     T: Captains’ Competition. Our captains should read one poem in the best way.

Breakfast in the morning

T: 5 things

  • Name 5 fruit

  • Name 5 vegetables.

  • Name 5 colours.

  • Name 5 lessons.

  • Name 5 days of the week.

  • Name 5 things on your desk.

 

T: Were you tired? Do you want to relax? Let’s sing and do exercises.

T: Circle an odd word

Maths, Music, France, Reading, Ukrainian.

Dog, cat, elephant,duck, cow.

Red, blue, big, pink, white.

Desk, table, pen, room.

 

TASK 11

T: Describe a picture which you can see on the blackboard. Your task is to make up the sentences as in example : I can see one brown horse.

 

TASK 12

T: I have a magic box. Your task to take a question in turn, read and answer it.

    T: Your task is to write a timetable of Monday

    T: And now it is time to know who is the winner. …..
